About The Global Child
It was in April 2009 that Ginny Brown, as a visiting Stonington educator to a sister school in China, witnessed children speaking two and three languages fluently and learning about global culture. A year later, with business partner and husband Jason, she began her foray into bilingual education, offering Mandarin and Spanish language enrichment classes to children in the Stonington area.
Encouraged by parents and responding to the needs of the community, the Browns expanded on the concept of early language enrichment and founded The Global Child LLC: Early Childhood School and Care Center in 2011, serving children from birth to six years. The Global Child curriculum ensures our children are ready for school and integrates Spanish into the daily learning and play activates.
About The Founder
Virginia has been the Founder and CEO of T.G.C. since 2011. She has worked extensively in the field of education and has served as Preschool Teacher, Elementary Principal and District Special Education and Pupil Services Director. Virginia's expertise is Early Childhood Education, Curriculum Development and Educational Leadership. She holds a Bachelor's in Elementary and Special Education and a Masters in both Educational Psychology and Educational Leadership. Virginia spends most of her time with her two sons and enjoys being active with a variety of organizations that support Women's Entrepreneurship. Most recently The Global Child, LLC was franchised in hopes that Virginia is able to inspire and support others to own their own T.G.C. Virginia resides between the Boston, Ma area and Southwest, FL.
