The Global Child was founded in 2011 by Virginia (Ginny) Brown and her late husband, Jason Brown. At the time Ginny and Jason launched their first school in Stonington, CT, Ginny was an elementary school principal. Her educational credentials are extensive; including having been a kindergarten teacher, special needs teacher, director of pupil personnel and services, and an early childhood school director and owner, all of which give Ginny a keen understanding of the importance of a rich, high-quality education for young children and how instrumental the formative years in a child's life are for success.
Since launching the first school, we have expanded to four locations, including Norwich, Bethel and Ledyard, CT. We understand the challenges families face in seeking the best fit for their young child's early learning and development, which is why we have developed a unique curriculum and approach to creating rich, educational experiences while fostering a nurturing environment
The Global Child curriculum, Enriched Learning for Young Children (E.L.Y.C.) addresses 9 domains including Cognition, Social/ Emotional Development, Physical Development (Gross and Fine Motor), Language and Literacy, Creative Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Skills and embeds the Spanish language into the daily routines. E.L.Y.C. develops the foundation children ages (6 weeks- 5 years) need to be school and life ready and is aligned with local and national early childhood standards.
The Global Child team understands that nothing less than the best will do for parents and children - and we are ready to share our expertise, knowledge and experience in educating young children to more locations and areas to ensure ALL children have access to high quality education.
The Global Child programs are designed from educational research revealing the best practices that meet the whole child's learning needs. In turn, the parents can be certain their child will have the best educational experiences daily - experiences that foster and enrich their social, emotional and cognitive development, while preparing them for success in school and life.
Our families and children love The Global Child. They know that our highly qualified and educated teachers and staff provide children with the love, care, and daily activities that ensure healthy, appropriate development and enrich each child's world.
