Our Norwich Center

After a long search for the perfect center to open our second location, The Global Child LLC acquired a beautiful center and qualified staff in what was once known as Pooh Corner Learning Center.

Our Norwich location holds accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) - the nation's leading organization of early childhood professionals. This NAEYC Accreditation represents the mark of quality in early childhood education.

In the 20 years since NAEYC Accreditation was established, it has become a widely recognized sign of high-quality early childhood education achieved by approximately only *8 percent *of all preschools and other early childhood programs. "The new NAEYC Accreditation system raises the bar for preschools, child care centers and other early childhood programs," said Mark Ginsberg, Ph.D., executive director of NAEYC.

We're proud to have earned the mark of quality from NAEYC, and to be recognized for our commitment to reaching the highest professional standards. NAEYC Accreditation lets families in our community know that children in our program are getting the best care and early learning experiences possible.

As teachers and care givers, our goal is to achieve a sense of continuity between home and center. We believe it is important for children to maintain a familiar and comfortable routine. Through parent/teacher communication, we individualize each child's care and learning opportunities.

As a family oriented child development center, The Global Child assures a quality "home away from home." We provide an atmosphere where children are respected, staff are responsible, and parents are always welcome.

Our program enhances a child's development by offering a caring atmosphere combined with a structured curriculum based on the Creative Curriculum®. We believe in helping children develop a positive self-image, sense of independence, and self-discipline through success-oriented, developmentally appropriate activities.
